3 Most Stressful things...

They say that the three most stressful things a person can do is move, build a house and I can't remember the 3rd. Well from December 8th we have packed out a house over seas, deciding what should go air and land, found a temporary home at our new location, gone through the Christmas holidays, started a building project of finishing the basement at the ranch house, loading up our family and traveling 1300 miles with two pickups one pulling a horse trailer with three horses. Are we in sane!! Yes and the date today is...
The above pictures shows Matt's horses somewhere in New Mexico.
We started out from the ranch and had snowy roads. When we got onto the interstate they turned to solid ice. For the next 50 miles we had 35 MPH driving. Within that 50 miles there was 5 semi trucks jackknived, and 8-10 cars that had flipped over and were crashed. Steve was calling us every three minutes to check on us(he and Alex were driving behind Matt and I in the pickup), I was a nervous wreak. The only calm one in the bunch was Matt. He was our hero. He drove the truck and trailer with three horses safely, put up with me and my nervousness, and got us to dry roads. The first day was supposed to take us 10 hours and it took 14 hours.

You can see the ice build up on the trailer. This picture was taken after we were in New Mexico for several hours. Some the the junk had melted and fallen off. The second day trip was not as bad as the first but there was still cars off the road and overturned because of the ice on the roads. The second day should have taken another 10 hours and it was almost another 13 hours. We were so glad to see the lights of our good friends home.( Matt is keeping his horses at our friends house.) We are so thankful to finally be here and to have made it safe and sound. We are loving every minute of the sunshine and are soaking it up!!!
The pictures below are of the finishing of the basement. There will be two bedrooms, a bath, a family room, and laundry room/office, and a storage room. It will really be nice for when we have company.
