It is amazing the we have been back in the United States for a whole year and what a year it has been.
Our son had a horse riding accident fracturing his pelvis, breaking one big butterfly bone and cracking the other one. Then later finding out that he dislocated his jaw. He has had a successful year of healing. He is back to playing Rugby, riding horses, and snowboarding. We still have the upper jaw to get into place and allow it to heal. He took his GED and passed with flying colors. He has a semester of University behind him and is into his 2nd week of his 2nd semester.
Our daughter has adapted to being an American. Her heart still longs to be back across the pond in her beloved Scotland and Europe. But for now she is busy trying to choose universities, finishing up her last semester of high school, working hard as one of the leads in the school musical, and being Laurel president. We just watch her and are amazed how entrenched she has become with her friends here. She is always texting, phoning, and goofing off with them every weekend. She is hoping to be fluent in Spanish, French and trying to keep current on her Norwegian by the end of her school year. Can you guess she has decided to study languages at university.
It has been really fun watching both our children grow through their adjustments and challenges this past year.
My husband has loved his new job and continues to work really hard.
It has been a challenging year for me. I would honestly say that living in American has been the biggest and hardest adjustment for me. But I feel I am finally getting it. It amazes me how entrenched we became in the European life in the past 9 years. My health still continues to be my biggest challenge in my life. But I can only take it one day at a time. For each good day I have I thank my Heavenly Father, muddle through the bad days and try to set my sites on other good days to come. I seem to be knitting alot of things and watching alot of movies. I have a really strong support group here who check on me and offer tons of help. I am truly a blessed person.
For me the biggest highlight of the year was getting to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with my Dad. As we both grow older we seem to have more and more things to talk about and to share.
I am hoping to have the energy to keep up the blog, but we shall see. If it doesn't get done. Each of you need to know that you are in my thoughts often.

I obviously don't know enough about you. I didn't even know you had health problems. I need to pay better attention. You are so sweet and so happy and such a great example to me. If I can ever help, let me know.
Isn't it amazing how much can happen in a year! I do hope you keep up with your blog! You are such an inspiring and happy person and I love reading about your wonderful family! I hope this year is a great one for you and your family!! Love ya!

One day you'll have to fill me in on the difficulties of "becoming American" again. We are loving it in Scotland, I'm not sure how I'll feel if WE move back!
